Hi, my name is Caleb and I’m a writer. I’ve written many different things over the years, but I specialize in marketing communications that both inform and persuade. And I’ve learned a lot since I first got in the marketing industry in 2005. Basically, I’m a copywriter, which means I write marketing materials and communications. Writing, however, is not how I got started.
I suppose I got started with my birth, but let’s jump ahead to college. This is the place I floundered and flopped, unsure of which direction to take. I changed my major 4 times. That’s a lot. In retrospect, I should have figured out what I wanted to do before I started investing my time and money. Oh well. Lesson learned.
I’m a tech guy, so I settled on computer science, and then programmed professionally for a decade. I still like technology, but over the years I’ve figured out that I like writing better. I find it more fulfilling than programming a website or a database solution.
I learned how to write (I’m sure some English professor somewhere will vehemently disagree with me), I studied fiction writing, non-fiction, journalism, and sales. I even took a copywriting course put together by the wonderful people of American Writers and Artists, Inc.
I put my writing skills to the test and made a little bit of money. And so here I am, presenting myself to you. If you have writing projects you need completed, or a business you need to market, I can help. Sometimes flashy, goofy videos work, but sometimes you need something more informative and in-depth.
Thanks to the web, people spend a lot of time researching things they want to buy. They want to make an informed decision and spend their money wisely, since so many of us have to carefully watch our spending these days. Because of this, people want information presented to them in a complete manner, simply put, with benefits explained. Welcome to the world of the savvy consumer.
If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to contact me. It can be hard to sell these days, since so many people keep a tight grip on their money. Your business, organization, or idea doesn’t have to fail as a result. You just need the right message. You need a clear, honest message to attract real prospects and make sales.
Inform and inspire people, and you’ll get results.
